Medieval 2 Total War Stainless Steel 6.3 Download
Stainless Steel 6.3-6.4 Mod for Medieval 2 Total War So I've seen a lot of people post about how this mod has crashed or won't start for them and they all receive little to no help on it. I want to see if maybe I can change that with a small tutorial.
Deus lo Vult! is a mod for Medieval II: Total War: Kingdom created by DLVelopers. aIt’s CIVlike enhancement that’s giving the player the possibility to write his personal history and requiring a lot more strategic thinking during gameplay.
Features:
Medieval 2 Total War Stainless Steel 6.3 Free Download
- Player can decide during first turn which DLV features he wants to activate.
- Many more factions (re-skinned) playable on a very large campaign map: + Ireland, Armenia, Lithuania, Teutonic order, Flanders, Norway, Kingdom of Jerusalem, Hedjaz tribes.
- More medieval + graphical elements (remember MTW I): Heraldic Titles, Civil War.
- Role-playing: Characters (Generals, Princes...) have a more medieval based trait and ancillary system. The player should be more attached emotionally to his characters because he has to make a lot of decisions during the lifecycle: education, training, governor and military ranks, prison, retirement.
- Economic System: Many new resource dependent economical buildings as joiner's shop, sawmill, vineyard... Gives the game a CIV-like touch. Positive and negative economical events have repercussions on the effect of these buildings and on the whole economical situation. The player can invest, ask for loans or force a crown duty on his nobles. Inflation may rise dependent on the treasury volume.- Interactivity: The player has to make a lot of decisions regarding interactive events (economical, medieval as trade fairs, religious councils, Royal Hunt, War Draft, Gambler...) and collecting governmentalmilitary points to achieve an advancement during his game.- More logistical/strategic parameters than the standard ones.
- Money: If you put your army into field you have to think of supply lines or they will become unmovable, population restrictions: you can't recruit armies in endless numbers because it is restricted by your actual settlement levels, high field costs for your troops in enemy land and during sieges does require to think about the best placement of your armies.
- No endless recruiting because of recruitment restrictions as population, settlement level.
- Advanced Battle and Campaign AI: new animations.
How to install: this mod has it’s own installer.

Stainless Steel is definitely my favorite mod for Medieval II. - Senior MemberPosts: 498Registered UsersAlready downloaded this new version via torrent, and I'll install it first thing after class.

Stainless Steel is light years away from Retro. It adds all sorts of new stuff - from a major retexturing of most units to new features such as a form of supplies (which affect morale and movement points) and much more. - Senior MemberCanadaPosts: 1,389Registered UsersYup, much better than retro (unless you want a better vanilla experience).
I like SS6.3 much better than 6.1. I didn't really like it, but so far (as England to learn the ropes) in the Early Era I've lost York to Scotland and France is besieging Caen almost every turn. France and Scotland are allies as well which add's to the mix. Right now Nottingham is producing as many troops as possible but things are somewhat bleak. I don't have access to many good units yet (basic levies really) so taking back York will be a challenge as the Scots have a full stack garrisoned there and ready to defend with their better quality troops. (Highlanders - 4 attack and 8 defense) vs my Spear Militia (2 attack and 10 defense). If I recall right, Nottingham is two turns from building a barracks that will give me two decent quality troops.
My only real gripe is the recruitment system (known as Real Recruitment/RR in SS). I know it's going for historical accuracy but it's rather annoying not knowing when I will reach the 'high' period in-game and gain access to some decent Feudal units rather than my levies which are beyond useless. You can disable RR in the menu upon startup but apparently it's bugged and doesn't work. It's no game breaker though as the game really makes sure you have a majority of poor levies with some quality troops to turn the tide of battle. - Senior MemberPosts: 498Registered UsersYou can disable RR in the menu upon startup but apparently it's bugged and doesn't work. The disable RR option is bugged? - Senior MemberCanadaPosts: 1,389Registered UsersYea, I was reading the twcenter forums to see what date the game changes to the 'high' period and I came across one of the modder's saying that the disable RR option is bugged and doesn't really work.
Anyway, As you can see, I don't really have any forces in the field to hold the French from besieging Caen every turn since they are all up north trying to retake York.
I actually just sallied out of Caen and killed the French King winning the battle barely. Robert de Mowbury fought valiantly but died saving Caen. - ModeratorArkansas, USAPosts: 17,940Registered Users, Moderators, Knights'The two most common things in the universe are Hydrogen and Stupidity.' - Harlan Ellison'The right to be heard does not automatically include the right to be taken seriously.' - Hubert H. - Senior MemberCanadaPosts: 1,389Registered UsersI have a new gripe right now, and that is the fact that battles crash extremely frequently. Not a fan at all.
- Senior MemberPosts: 498Registered UsersI'm hoping they'll release a fix for the bugged 'disable RR option' soon.
- Senior MemberCanadaPosts: 1,389Registered UsersI'm actually rather starting to like it. It's turn 60 now and I just got Feudal Knights and Miles Peidities (Spelling?). Finally some decent quality Feudal troops. It makes the early stages (and even for the foreseeable future) much more challenging in the sense that you have to work with what you got which isn't much. I never thought I'd say how much I loved Hobilars and Levy Archers.

This seems to be a problem with any mod that adds a lot of modifications to the campaign script. All the supply mechanics and the AI all add quite a lot to the script, which makes it more liable to crashing. Another mod, Call of Warhammer, has massive crashing issues in its current version because there is so much customization to the script. - edited August 2010I loved it until it started to crash whenever i entered a battle. It used to work fine..then i invaded Ireland on like turn 20 and all hell broke loose.(_/)

After spending sometime with the campaign map, I agree with you. You get to learn the value of units most of us think are mere cannon fodder. - edited April 2011The best mod in medieval 2. Despite shogun 2 and empire, I'm still playing in it. For Ukraine,of course)))Flag0·Like
