Qsc Kw181 Subwoofer
Hey guys, wondering if you can help me through a problem.
One of the rooms I work in uses a full QSC rig. 3 K12s for monitors, 2 KW153s for mains and a KW181 sub. The speakers keep failing but it's the amps failing, not the drivers themselves. They'll start to cut in and out one night and then the next won't turn on at all. This mainly happens with the K12s, 3 in the last 6 months or so, but has also happened with one of the 153s.
Now, it generally happens on nights touring acts bring MASSIVE light rigs in. The stage only has 3 20 amp circuits which is definitely not enough to power everything when the light rigs get as big as they can. Is it possible that the amps are having to work too hard and are wearing out? Or maybe when the lights black out theyre getting power surges? What about something else?
