Today, we’ll be taking a quick look at the ASRock B365M Pro 4 Motherboard, which utilizes Intel’s latest B365 chipset and supports all of Intel’s 8th and 9th Gen Core processors LGA1151 (14nm Coffee Lake).

The new B365 chipset from Intel is made using their 22nm fabrication process, as opposed to 14nm for their B360. This doesn’t necessary mean it’s old or bad … it’s just a way for Intel to free up some capacity for 14nm production, which they have been having problems with recently. Many have express concerns about going back to 22nm, especially when AMD have already released 7nm processors this year.

The B365 chipset offer very similar features to the B360, with some difference being the number of PCI Express lanes of 20 for the B365 and only 12 for the original B360. Additionally, the B365 now supports hardware RAID for PCIe and SATA storage devices, something that’s missing on the B360. The downside is … the lack of integrated wifi, there’s no overclocking options and it can only support up to DDR4 2666 memory.

The ASRock’s Pro series may look a little conservative (i.e. no fancy gaming features), but it should perform just as good and any of their siblings of the same chipset.
